Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer reached two personal milestones in the opening match of the new Bundesliga season, marking another significant chapter in his remarkable career.

The 40-year-old started between the posts for the record 33-time Bundesliga champions, making his 600th appearance for Bayern Munich across all competitions. The match also marked his 21st Bundesliga season, further underlining his longevity at the highest level of German football.

Neuer joined Bayern from Schalke 04 in 2011 and has since established himself as one of the greatest players in the club's history. During his time at Bayern, he has won numerous Bundesliga and German Cup titles and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy twice.

Despite turning 40, Neuer's hunger for football remains undiminished. His appearance in Bayern's opening match of the new season provided another reminder of his extraordinary longevity and contribution to the club.

The figures 600 appearances for Bayern and 21 Bundesliga seasons, highlight the remarkable length and success of Neuer's career in German club football.
