10 horses slaughtered in Tangail, meat taken from seven

Ten horses were slaughtered at an abandoned house in Basail municipality of Tangail early Sunday, with meat taken from seven of them.

Locals found three slaughtered horses, along with the heads, hides and bones of seven horses, at the abandoned house in Barnikishori area in the morning.

Police said the horses were likely brought from elsewhere and slaughtered at the secluded site between 1am and 4am. The perpetrators reportedly fled after taking the meat from seven horses, leaving the carcasses of three behind as dawn approached.

Basail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Kabir said police visited the spot after being informed and that legal action is being taken.
