Traffic police filed cases and imposed fines after intercepting the official flag vehicle of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashiduazzaman Millat for driving recklessly on the wrong side of the road in Dhaka on Thursday (September 3) morning.

The incident occurred at 9:08 AM on Circuit House Road as the minister's vehicle was heading toward the Secretariat against traffic flow. Senior traffic officers stopped the car and issued two separate cases totaling Tk 6,000 in fines against driver Arif Hossain for violating traffic laws and driving recklessly.

Minister Rashiduazzaman Millat was inside the vehicle while the infraction took place alongside an adjacent road where the Prime Minister's motorcade was traveling toward the Secretariat in compliance with standard traffic signals.

Police officials noted that filing a case against a sitting minister's car for driving on the wrong side of the road is unprecedented in Bangladesh's history, sending a strong warning to high-ranking state officials.
