The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered the publication of a newspaper notice directing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 28 other fugitives to surrender in the crimes against humanity case over the killings during the Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel in 2013.
The tribunal also fixed September 16 for the next hearing in the case against 41 accused, including Hasina.
The ICT-2 passed the orders on Thursday following a special hearing on the matter.
The case concerns alleged crimes against humanity committed during the Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Chattar on May 5, 2013.
Ten accused who have been arrested in connection with the case were produced before the International Crimes Tribunal this morning.
