Plaintiff challenges PBI report clearing actress Tanjin Tisha

The plaintiff in a case against actress Tanjin Tisha has filed a naraji petition challenging a Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) report that found no truth in allegations of fraud, breach of trust and threats.

Advocate Shubhra Sinha Roy Roni submitted the petition on behalf of fashion designer Ayesha Anum Fayzah Sanaya Chowdhury before the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah in Dhaka on Thursday.

The court directed the plaintiff and three witnesses to appear on October 20 for further hearing on the matter.

Sanaya filed the case on November 27, 2025, alleging that Tisha took a sari worth Tk 75,000 from her fashion house on December 13, 2024, to wear at an event but did not return it as promised. She also accused the actress of verbally abusing and threatening her when she sought the sari’s return.

The PBI submitted its investigation report on May 25, recommending Tisha’s discharge after finding no evidence supporting the allegations. The report said Tisha eventually returned the sari by post on March 31, 2026, and that her messages to Sanaya did not establish any threat.

Sanaya, however, has rejected the findings, claiming that witnesses and an audio recording of the alleged threats were not properly considered. Her lawyer said they would seek further investigation of the case.
