Three Iranian pilots killed in US strikes

Three pilots belonging to Iran were killed in the US attack, according to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The pilots who met their demise included Mojtaba Bagheri, Hamed Okati, and Hosseini Mahdavian. Bagheri and Okati were naval pilots while Mahdavian was an air force pilot.

Iran did not indicate where the three had been killed nor did it say whether they were piloting fighter jets or had been engaged in any military mission.

Iran had reported that six other naval personnel were also killed in the bombing. At least 19 Iranians had been killed during the extensive attacks carried out by the US on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to Iran’s media, there were seven casualties in Khuzestan province and four IRGC members were killed in Kermanshah. Three members of the paramilitary forces were killed on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf, while one member died in Fars province.

Four people were killed in a wedding party in the Hormozgan province due to the US attack. It is not known whether the six naval personnel were among those who died in Khuzestan.
