Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka scored the quickest century in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history, completing 100 runs in 39 balls.
His explosive innings of 121 off 43 balls, consisting of 8 fours and 12 sixes, helped St Kitts & Nevis Patriots score 235 for 4 against St Lucia Kings. Shanaka walked into bat when his team had reached a total of 89 for 2 runs after 10 overs and took them on to score an enormous total.
This broke the record of a 40-ball century in CPL which was jointly shared by Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, and Tim Seifert.
St Lucia could only manage to score 98 before being dismissed with Jeremiah Louis taking 5 wickets for only 10 runs while Wanindu Hasaranga and Ashmead Nedd got two wickets each.
St Kitts won by 137 runs and improved their net run rate from -0.547 to 0.593.
