A three-day Bangladesh Travel Mart (BTM) 2026 began at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka on Thursday, with travel companies offering tour packages, air tickets, hotel bookings and visa services to visitors.
Organised by the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA), the event will continue until 5 September.
Dr Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, joint secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, inaugurated the event. Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Nina P. Cainglet and representatives of the tourism sector were also present.
Local and international tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), tourism organisations and travel service providers are taking part in the fair.
Visitors were seen at different stalls, asking about tour packages and comparing airfares, hotels, visa services and other travel options. Many were also looking for special offers for different destinations.
According to BOTOA, around 100 exhibitors, 60 trade buyers and 15,000 visitors are expected to take part in this year's event. Companies from different countries are also participating.
A key feature of the event is pre-scheduled business-to-business (B2B) meetings between buyers and sellers. Participants can use an online appointment system to arrange meetings with representatives of selected companies.
