Transformer thief electrocuted to death in Magura

The victim was identified as Shahin Mia, the son of Nizamuddin of Palashbaria village of the upazila.

According to police, local farmers found the dead body of Shahin in a rice field adjacent to an electricity post at Kanabil field in Bororia village early on Saturday morning. The farmers informed the police about it.

It is assumed that Shahin tried stealing the transformer late on Friday night. Perhaps he got electrocuted during the attempt and died on the spot.

Sub-Inspector Kamruzzaman of Mohammadpur police station said the dead body was found around 7 am by the owner of the rice field.

The body is being prepared to be sent to Magura 250-Bed General Hospital for an autopsy.
