
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 3,206 cases against vehicles for violating traffic laws during drives across the capital over the past two days.
The authorities also dumped 878 vehicles and towed 501 others during the drives conducted on September 3 and 4.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain disclosed the information on Saturday.
According to the DMP Traffic Division, the highest number of cases�"669�"was filed in the Mirpur traffic division, followed by 620 in Uttara and 512 in Motijheel.
Other divisions recorded 445 cases in Wari, 273 in Gulshan, 244 in Tejgaon, 228 in Lalbagh and 215 in Ramna.
Akter Hossain said traffic drives would continue across the capital to maintain discipline on the roads.
