Kawkhali Upazila Awami League organizing secretary arrested

Police have arrested Mamun Hossain Bablu Jamaddar the Organizing Secretary of the Upazila Awami League and a former member of the Pirojpur District Council for his connection to a cheque fraud case. He was sent to jail via the court on Thursday (September 10).

According to police sources, Mamun Hossain Bablu Jamaddar had been absconding for a long time following his conviction in the cheque fraud case. Police from Kaukhali Police Station later traced his location using technology and arrested him in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka with the assistance of RAB.

Moreover, he was also named accused in a sabotage case filed at Kaukhali Police Station on October 13, 2024, where he was listed as the eighth suspect. Following his arrest, the investigating officer formally recorded his arrest in connection with that case as well.

Md. Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaukhali Police Station, confirmed the matter, stating that he was sent to jail custody through the court on Thursday.
