SBAC Bank elects Prof Maksudur Rahman as new Chairman

Professor Md Maksudur Rahman Sarker, an Independent Director of SBAC Bank PLC and Chairman of the Department of Accounting at the University of Dhaka, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBAC Bank PLC. 

The decision has been made during the 215th meeting of the Bank’s Board of Directors on Wednesday, says a press release. 

Professor Maksudur Rahman Sarker completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) and Master of Commerce degrees in Accounting at Dhaka University, where he was awarded the first class first position in both and subsequently joined the department as lecturer. 

He later obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level-1, awarded by the Association for Investment Management and Research (USA), and completed a professional CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) degree from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
