Tree crushes worker in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, Sept 11: A 23-year-old worker, Arif Fakir, died after a tree he was cutting fell on his head in the Bankpara area of the district town on Friday afternoon.

Dr Arindam Majumder, a physician on duty in the emergency department of Gopalganj Medical College Hospital, said that Arif was cutting a tree in the Bankpara area of the district town. 

At one point, the tree he was cutting fell on his head, leaving him critically injured. Other workers rescued him and took him to Gopalganj Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty in the emergency department declared him dead.

The deceased worker, Arif Fakir, was the son of Zahid Fakir of Charmanekdah Village in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila.
