PALAWAN, Sept 11: Philippine teams have recovered the bodies of 30 people from a ferry consumed in a blaze, the coast guard said Friday, in what it called an initial count.
"Joint authorities reported an initial count of 30 cadavers recovered on board M/V June Aster today," a statement read, adding that the "retrieval and transfer of the cadavers began at around 5:16 pm (0916 GMT)".
The coast guard earlier said that bodies had been found in the economy accommodation area of the ferry, which ran aground near the tourist hotspot Coron, Palawan after a fire erupted on Wednesday."AFP
