Saudi Arabia has issued emergency alerts in Khamis Mushait and Abha amid concerns over a possible attack, according to the country’s Civil Defence authorities.
The development comes as Yemen’s government forces claimed to have carried out airstrikes against Houthi targets in Dhubab and Mocha, including equipment, gatherings and members of the armed group.
Majid Abdullah Al-Nujaili, spokesperson for the Yemeni government forces, said in a post on X that the strikes targeted locations identified as “kill boxes” in the Dhubab and Mocha areas of Taiz province.
Earlier this week, government forces designated areas surrounding the Taiz-Mocha road as a military zone and urged civilians to avoid the route.
The warnings came after the Houthis captured Mocha in a surprise military operation earlier this week.
The takeover has further expanded and consolidated Houthi control over a significant stretch of Yemen’s Red Sea coastline.
