
A high-level delegation from US-based energy company Chevron, led by Javier La Rosa, President of Base Assets and Emerging Countries, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The discussions focused on Chevron’s investment in Bangladesh’s energy sector and prospects for further cooperation between the company and the country.
Particular emphasis was given to increasing Chevron's investment in existing and mature gas fields in Bangladesh. The meeting also discussed potential investment in the exploration and development of new gas fields.
Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power and Energy Anindya Islam Amit, Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director Shu Shiyong, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
