Islamic University, Bangladesh, in Kushtia, will hold its fifth convocation on a day between February 1 and 3, 2027, following approval from President and Chancellor Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The president gave his consent at a meeting with Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A K M Motinur Rahman at Bangabhaban on Monday.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Amtaz Hossain and Treasurer Professor Dr Idrish Ali were also present.
The vice-chancellor later confirmed the development.
The convocation will formally confer degrees on graduates from various faculties and departments after a long wait.
The university held its fourth and most recent convocation in 2018. The announcement of the fifth convocation has generated enthusiasm among current and former students.
