Class XI lessons postponed by a day due to holiday

Classes for students admitted to Class XI for the 2026-27 academic year will begin on September 24, one day later than originally scheduled, due to a public holiday for Fateha-e-Yazdaham.

Classes were scheduled to begin on September 23. However, all educational institutions across the country will remain closed that day for the religious observance.

The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced the revised date in a notice on Wednesday.

The notice, signed by committee President and Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Syed Akhtaruzzaman, said classes were scheduled to begin on September 23 under Policy 6.0 of the “Class XI Admission Policy-2026”.

As September 23 has been declared a one-day holiday for Fateha-e-Yazdaham, classes cannot begin as scheduled, the notice said.

The committee has therefore rescheduled the start of classes for September 24.

All higher secondary-level educational institutions have been asked to inform students and their guardians about the revised schedule.
