Lightning kills youth at Daulatpur

DUALATPUR, KUSHTIA, Sept 17: A 30-year-old man was killed by lightning while returning home in Narayanpur Village of Rifaitpur Union in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon, local sources said.

Aroze Ali, son of Abdur Razzak of Narayanpur Village, was struck around 1:20 pm as rain and thunderstorms swept the area. Locals rushed him to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

The incident prompted mourning in the village. Experts urged people to seek shelter indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open areas, fields and rivers.
