Radhika Apte upset over inappropriate proposals on film

Popular Bollywood and South Indian actress Radhika Apte has expressed frustration over unnecessary nudity in films and inappropriate proposals she has faced on shooting sets.
In a recent interview, the actress spoke about some deeply uncomfortable experiences in the film industry and criticized what she described as a distasteful mindset.
Radhika said that early in her career, after appearing in bold scenes in several films, some people in the industry assumed that she would agree to any such scene. She said she repeatedly had to reject proposals to add unnecessary kissing scenes without any script-related requirement.
“After doing intimate scenes in four or five films early in my career, some people in the industry assumed that I would easily agree to take off my clothes,” she said, adding that she had to make it clear that she would not do so.
Recalling what she described as one of her most uncomfortable experiences, Radhika spoke about the shooting of an action sequence. She said she was asked to perform the scene with the buttons of her shirt undone.
According to the actress, when she pointed out that the shirt might move during the action, the filmmakers suggested that she wear only a bra and underwear for the shoot.
Radhika said she was stunned by the proposal and described it as one of the worst experiences of her career.
Known for speaking openly about her work, Radhika has once again highlighted the distinction between portraying a character as required by a script and using unnecessary nudity merely to create sensationalism.
