Parked bus catches fire in Siddhirganj

A bus of Nilachal Paribahan caught fire while parked beside a road in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj early Monday.

The incident occurred between around 1:35 AM and 2:00 AM on Monday (September 21) beside the new road near the SO Eidgah field in Ward 6.

Locals said, they noticed the parked bus suddenly catching fire. They suspected that unidentified miscreants may have set the bus on fire.

Two units of Adamjee Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control around 2:15 AM. No casualties were reported as there was no one inside the bus at the time.

Miron Mia, station officer of Adamjee Fire Station said, "firefighters reached the scene after receiving information about the fire and brought it under control within 15 minutes."

Siddhirganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Mujibur Rahman said, "the cause of the fire was not immediately known and no one had been identified in connection with the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and identify those responsible."
