Mother, sister-in-law, niece slaughtered in Cumilla; Youth held

A young man has been detained for allegedly killing his mother, sister-in-law and two-year-old niece by slitting their throats in Debidwar upazila of Cumilla.
The incident occurred on Monday morning in the Bara Shalghar area of Debidwar.
Local residents managed to catch accused youth, Emon, and later, handed him over to police.
Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfor Rahman confirmed the matter.
Police said the bodies of the accused’s mother, Peyara Begum, and his two-year-old niece were kept at Debidwar Police Station.
His sister-in-law, Rabeya Begum, was taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where she later died, according to local residents.
Police could not immediately determine the motive behind the killings.
