Two minors sent to Tongi Child Dev Centre

CUMILLA, Sept 21: Two minors among four suspects arrested in connection with the murder of schoolboy Ishiat Shahriar Opratim in Cumilla have been sent to the Tongi Child Development Centre in Gazipur.

The two are Mozammel Hossain Fahad, 15, and Kamrul Hasan, 16. The other two accused, Tuhin, 19, and Siam, 19, are currently in Cumilla Central Jail.

Fahad and Kamrul were taken to the Tongi Child Development Centre on Monday afternoon following a court order, considering their age, said Md Emran Khan, superintendent of the centre.

Apratim was the only child of Dr Nahida Begum, an associate professor of the Department of Bangla at Comilla University, and a seventh-grade student at Cumilla Border Guard Public School.

His body was recovered from a jungle in the Sananda area of Lalmai Hill in South Dakkhin upazila of Cumilla on Saturday, a day after he went missing.
Police arrested the four suspects in connection with the murder.�"UNB
