‘Mayar Jonjal’ coming to OTT, Ritwick praises Opi Karim

Bangladesh-India joint production ‘Mayar Jonjal’ is set to arrive on OTT six years after it was made.

Directed by Indranil Roy Chowdhury, the film stars Bangladeshi actor Opi Karim and Kolkata-based actor Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead roles. The film will stream on Chorki from September 24, the platform announced Monday night.

The film was released simultaneously in Bangladesh and India in 2023 after being screened at several international film festivals.

‘Mayar Jonjal’ won awards at the Asiaticafilmmediale Festival in Rome and the Rainbow Film Festival in London. It also won the Best Screenplay award in the Asian Competition section of the Dhaka International Film Festival.

Announcing the OTT release, Ritwick praised Opi Karim’s performance, saying she was “outstanding” as his wife in the film.
