Vidya Balan makes powerful debut with Rajinikanth

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is set to share the screen with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth for the first time in the highly anticipated action sequel 'Jailer 2', directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

The filmmakers unveiled Vidya’s first look from the film on Sunday (September 20), introducing her character, Kantha, through a striking character teaser. Dressed in a blue saree and holding a cigarette, Vidya makes a commanding entrance in the video, hinting at a strong and intriguing role.

The character reveal has added to the growing anticipation surrounding the film, which follows the success of Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer.

Rajinikanth will reprise his role as the iconic ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel also features SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and several other prominent actors.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on October 15, 2026.
