Bangladesh beat Maldives to secure first Asian Games beach volleyball win

Bangladesh secured their first win in men’s beach volleyball at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, defeating the Maldives 2-1 in a Pool H match on Thursday.

The Rakesh-Ratul pair lost the opening set 13-21 against Maldives’ Nasim Adam and Sajid Ismail. They bounced back in the next two sets, winning 21-19 and 17-15 to seal the match.

Bangladesh had earlier lost both their Pool H matches against Japan and Iran by 0-2 sets.

The Bangladesh Volleyball Federation congratulated the men’s beach volleyball team on securing their first victory at the Asian Games.
