Man stabs wife, kills self in Narayanganj

NARAYANGANJ, Sept 24: An auto-rickshaw driver died by suicide after allegedly stabbing his wife in the neck during a domestic dispute in the no. 1 alley of Pagla Chitashal area in Fatulla of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila on Wednesday morning.

Deceased Shamim, son of Nurul Bepari from Shariatpur District, rented a home of Khokon Mia in Chitashal area where he worked as an auto-rickshaw driver.

Following a morning argument, Shamim stabbed his wife, Moyuri, in the neck before hanging himself inside the house. Neighbours rushed Moyuri to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with critical injuries.

Police recovered Shamim’s body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. SI of Fatulla Model Police Station Palash Baun confirmed the matter.
