Thailand cuts visa-free stay for 60 countries

Thailand has cut the visa-free stay to 30 days from 60 days for eligible travellers from 60 countries and territories, with the new rules taking effect from September 15.
Under the revised arrangement, eligible passport holders can stay in Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism-related travel.
The new rule replaces the previous 60-day visa exemption for travellers covered by the scheme.
Thailand's Tourism Authority has advised travellers to check the entry conditions applicable to their nationality before travelling, as separate bilateral arrangements and other entry categories remain in place.
