Security tightened at all power plants

 
The government has ordered measures to strengthen security at all power plants across the country amid the need to ensure the safety of critical power infrastructure.

The directive was issued following a decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ “Core Committee” meeting held on August 26.
Security Branch-2 of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs sent a letter to the relevant authorities on September 17, asking them to take necessary steps to strengthen the overall security system at all power plants in line with the committee's decision.

Following the directive, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters sent a letter to relevant officials on September 23, requesting them to take necessary measures accordingly.

The DMP letter also referred to the Record of Discussions of the Core Committee meeting and called for steps to strengthen security at power plants across the country.

Copies of the Home Affairs Ministry letter were sent to the Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the Public Security Division, the relevant branch of the ministry and concerned police official.
