Russian strikes kill five in Ukraine

Russian strikes on Ukraine killed five people, including one in Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities said on Sunday (September 27), as Russian forces continued attacks across several regions.
Three people were killed in overnight strikes in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, while another man was killed in a Russian drone strike in Kyiv. One more person was killed in a strike on the Odesa region.
In Kyiv, strikes damaged more than 16 sites, including private homes, a warehouse and a production facility. A woman and two 16-year-olds were also injured and hospitalised, according to city authorities.
The latest attacks came as fighting between Russia and Ukraine continued despite ongoing international efforts to end the war.
