3 more measles deaths in 24hrs

Three more people died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,214 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to different hospitals and 96 people tested positive for measles.  

With the latest deaths, the number of people who have died from measles and its symptoms so far this year has reached 1,099, including 101 confirmed measles deaths.

The number of patients admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms has reached 189,255, while 21,308 people have tested positive for measles.

According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin issued on Monday, two of the three people who died in the past 24 hours had been admitted to hospitals in Chattogram Division and one in Sylhet Division.

Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of deaths among patients with measles symptoms, with 448, followed by Sylhet with 176. Rajshahi recorded 93 deaths, Chattogram 83, Mymensingh 79, Barishal 60, Khulna 44 and Rangpur 15.
