Finish each day’s work within the day: DC Zahid

Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mian on Tuesday urged government officials and employees to complete each day’s work within the day, stressing timely and efficient public service.

“Finishing today’s work today is your sacred duty. You are in that chair to serve the people,” he told officials and employees of the district administration.

Zahidul said people could no longer afford repeated visits to government offices for the same service, as delays in service increasingly cause public frustration.

He urged officials to maintain accountability, efficiency and transparency and regularly assess their performance.

The DC also stressed the need to adapt to rapid advances in artificial intelligence and automation, saying public servants must update their skills and working methods as technology changes.

He directed officials to implement government priority programmes, including canal excavation, tree plantation, cleanliness drives and dengue prevention, efficiently and on time.

Zahidul also cautioned against wasting public funds and urged officials to maintain their health, saying the district administration must strengthen public trust through timely and transparent service.
