Police have arrested six members of the banned Awami League’s affiliated organisations from a house in Adabor, Dhaka, for allegedly preparing to commit anti-state and terrorist activities.
The arrested are Md Rakib Mahmud, 20, Abdur Rahman alias Arpan, 22, Md Mishkat Alam Bhuiyan, 26, Md Rahman Shuvo, 19, Saikat Hossain Samrat, 22, and Md Bijoy, 20.
Police said they received information around 9:35PM Tuesday that members of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, Jubo League and Swechhasebak League were allegedly preparing to destabilise the state and damage state infrastructure at a house on Road 16 in Adabor.
A team of Adabor Police Station conducted a raid on the house around 10:05PM and arrested the six, police said.
A case has been filed with Adabor Police Station in connection with the incident.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain confirmed the matter.
