Pakistan has launched targeted airstrikes inside Afghanistan, killing at least 22 militants, according to an official statement issued by Pakistan's Ministry of Information on Thursday (October 1).
The Pakistani government claimed the air raids successfully neutralized members associated with "Fitna al-Khawarij" and "Fitna al-Hindustan" networks.
The Information Ministry stated that the air raids were executed as part of "Operation Gazab Lil-Haq," a targeted anti-terror campaign driven by actionable intelligence. The strikes focused on militant camps and safe houses located across two areas inside Afghan territory.
According to the official statement, the targeted bases were destroyed along with significant stockpiles of weapons and ammunition. Pakistan claimed that high precision was maintained during the strikes to minimize potential civilian casualties.
Islamabad reiterated its growing security concerns regarding cross-border terrorism emanating from Afghan soil, emphasizing that while Pakistan supports regional peace, protecting its citizens remains the primary government imperative.
The Ministry added that counter-terrorism operations under the "Azm-e-Istehkam" policy framework will continue at full force to dismantle foreign-backed militant networks operating in the region.
