One killed in Gopalganj road mishap

GOPALGANJ, Oct 3: A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a bus in Muksudpur Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred in the Rishatala area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. The deceased was identified as Ripon Bepari, 40, son of Robat Bepari of Gerakhola Village.

According to local sources, Bepari was cycling toward Muksudpur Upazila headquarters when a Gopalganj-bound bus operated by Emad Paribahan hit him. He sustained critical injuries and died on the way to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-Charge of Muksudpur Police Station Abdullah Mamun confirmed the incident, saying the body would be handed over to the family after completion of legal procedures.
