Yemeni Houthi rebels launched a combined drone and ballistic missile attack targeting a facility owned by state oil giant Saudi Aramco in Riyadh on Saturday.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree confirmed the attack in a televised address reported by Indian media outlet The Hindu, claiming the strike hit its target successfully and triggered a fire at the Aramco installation.

The spokesman stated that the attack came in response to recent military escalation, alleging that the Saudi-led coalition conducted at least 60 airstrikes across Sana'a and other regions over the past 24 hours. He warned that continued blockades and airstrikes would draw escalating retaliatory strikes against Saudi infrastructure.

However, the Saudi-led military coalition completely rejected the Houthi claims, labeling them as misleading propaganda aimed at concealing their operational losses and distracting local public discontent.

Tensions have escalated significantly since July after the Iran-aligned group declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, leading to repeated drone and missile strikes targeting critical economic and energy infrastructure.
