Barcelona once again demonstrated their dominance in Spanish women’s football, thrashing arch-rivals Real Madrid 7-0 in the first women’s El Clasico of the season.
Forward Pina was the star of the show, scoring four goals in Barcelona’s emphatic victory.
Barcelona came out attacking from the start in the Liga F match at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday. Pina opened the scoring in the fourth minute before doubling the lead in the 28th minute.
She completed her hat-trick just four minutes later as Barcelona raced into a 3-0 lead. Caroline Graham Hansen then made it 4-0 in the 33rd minute.
Pina completed her four-goal haul in the 44th minute, giving Barcelona a commanding 5-0 lead at half-time.
Real Madrid’s misery continued after the break. Eva Pajor added a sixth goal in the 55th minute before Sydney Schertenleib completed the rout in the 88th minute.
Real struggled in all departments throughout the match as Barcelona dominated both in attack and defence to secure a 7-0 victory.
Barcelona also made history off the pitch. A crowd of 40,533 attended the match at Spotify Camp Nou, setting a new record for the highest attendance at a single Liga F match
