The government has taken an initiative to implement the National Pay Scale 2026 at state-owned banks and autonomous institutions. To this end, the Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the Ministry of Finance has sent copies of the gazette notification on the new pay scale to the concerned institutions and instructed them to take the necessary measures for its implementation.
The Administration Wing of the Financial Institutions Division issued a letter in this regard on Wednesday (7 October).
According to the letter, a copy of the gazette notification issued by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance for autonomous (public) bodies and state-owned institutions under the National Pay Scale 2026 has been forwarded to the concerned institutions for necessary action.
The letter states that the Finance Division issued the gazette notification for autonomous (public) bodies and state-owned institutions under the National Pay Scale 2026 on 17 September. A copy of the gazette has subsequently been sent to the concerned institutions for further necessary measures.
The letter, signed by Deputy Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division Sharmin Sultana, was sent to six state-owned banks and three other institutions.
The six state-owned banks are Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank, Rupali Bank, BASIC Bank, and Bangladesh Development Bank PLC. Copies of the gazette notification were sent to the managing directors and chief executive officers of these banks.
In addition, copies of the gazette were sent to the managing director of The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Limited and the director of the Bangladesh Insurance Academy.
The letter mentioned that two copies of the gazette notification on the National Pay Scale 2026 were enclosed with it.
Based on the SRO number issued by the Finance Division on 17 September, administrative steps are now being taken to implement the new pay structure for autonomous (public) bodies and state-owned institutions.
The concerned institutions will now take the necessary measures in accordance with the provisions of the gazette notification.
