
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the government is working for the welfare of every citizen of the country irrespective of religion, caste, class, profession and community.
He made the remarks at a view exchange meeting with representatives of the Hindu and Buddhist communities at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat on Wednesday.
He said, “We want to build a Bangladesh where religion, caste or identity will not stand as a barrier to people’s rights and opportunities. Ensuring equal rights and dignity for every citizen of the country is our goal.”
At the exchange meeting, representatives of the Hindu and Buddhist communities raised various problems, needs and demands before the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister listened to their statements attentively and expressed the government’s sincerity in ensuring the welfare of people from all communities.
The Prime Minister said, “We will try our utmost to do whatever is possible on behalf of the government. Your reasonable demands and problems will be considered with importance.”
