The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the price of Jet A-1 aviation fuel for domestic flights to Tk 182.71 per litre, including duties and VAT, for October from Tk 165.65 in September.
For international flights operated by domestic and foreign airlines, the price has been raised to US$1.1882 per litre, excluding duties and VAT, from $1.0770.
The revised prices will come into effect from Thursday, according to a BERC press release issued on Wednesday.
The commission adjusted the prices after reviewing the average Platts Rate for Jet A-1 during the period from September 5 to October 4 and the US dollar exchange rate used by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) for LC settlements.
BERC said it had originally fixed the prices of Jet A-1 for domestic and international flights through an order issued on May 13, 2025, following a public hearing and detailed review of proposals submitted by BPC and Padma Oil Company Ltd.
Since then, the commission has been adjusting the price of Jet A-1 on a monthly basis based on international market prices published by Platts."UNB
