For more than three decades, Bishwo Rang has been bringing the colours, traditions and cultural spirit of Durga Puja to life through fashion.

For Bengalis, the year is filled with festivals, but Durga Puja holds a special place in the religious, social and cultural landscape of the community. Beyond its spiritual significance, the festival is also a celebration of art, tradition, colour and creativity. Reflecting this festive spirit through clothing, local fashion brand Bishwo Rang has brought a special collection for Durga Puja 2026.

The brand began exploring a distinct fashion segment around Durga Puja at a time when festival-focused collections were not as common as they are today. Founded in 1994 by fashion designer Biplob Saha, Bishwo Rang has since worked to bring Bangladesh’s history, heritage, culture and folk elements into contemporary fashion.

Over the years, the brand’s Puja collections have featured motifs inspired by Goddess Durga, mythology, traditional art and different elements of Bengali festive life. The designs have appeared across a wide range of clothing for women, men and children, including saris, panjabis, dhotis, three-pieces, kameez, kurtis, fatua and shirts.

Fabric, printing techniques and contemporary cuts have also played an important role in developing the collections. Traditional motifs are combined with modern silhouettes, creating festive wear that reflects both heritage and contemporary aesthetics.

For Bishwo Rang, however, Puja fashion goes beyond creating attractive clothes. It is also a way of telling stories about culture and identity. Elements such as alpana, kash flowers, autumn landscapes, folk motifs and traditional art have repeatedly found their way into the brand’s festive designs.

The 2026 collection continues this approach, offering outfits for women, men and children for Puja celebrations, family gatherings and other festive occasions. The collection brings together the brand’s 31 years of experience with traditional influences and contemporary design.

“My main goal is to tell the story of our heritage and culture through fashion,” says Biplob Saha, founder of Bishwo Rang. “Durga Puja is deeply connected with our culture, emotions and heritage. So Puja clothing should not only be beautiful; it should also carry the story of our roots, art and own culture.”

For Saha, fashion is more than clothing. It can capture a time, a culture and the spirit of a festival. Through its Puja collections, Bishwo Rang continues to explore that idea-keeping tradition at the heart of fashion while giving it a contemporary expression.
