The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has seized 72,944 kilogrammes of Chinese and Indian yarn worth about Tk 2.95 crore from four unregistered warehouses in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday.
NBR’s Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate conducted the raid at around 10am at the four unregistered warehouses owned by Anik Traders in Purinda Bazar.
Mohammad Al Amin Sheikh, public relations officer of the NBR, confirmed the seizure. He said Haji Mobarak Molla is the owner of Anik Traders. During the search, officials found metallic yarn, polyester yarn and nylon yarn imported from China and India.
