Netflix has secured exclusive broadcasting rights to all 104 matches of the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, expanding its presence in live sports streaming.
The US-based streaming platform confirmed the agreement with FIFA on Tuesday (October 13), saying it would provide live coverage of every match, along with pre-match, half-time and post-match programmes and daily highlights.
Under the deal, one match per matchday will be available free to viewers in Spain. A national free-to-air broadcaster will also show all of Spain’s matches, both semi-finals and the final. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
The 2030 tournament will mark the World Cup’s centenary. Spain, Portugal and Morocco will co-host the competition, while Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will stage three centenary celebration matches.
Netflix also holds broadcasting rights for the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups in the United States and Canada.
