Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 earns Rs 210 crore in two days

At 75, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth continues to dominate the big screen, with his latest film Jailer 2 earning Rs 210 crore worldwide in its first two days.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film was released worldwide on October 15. It collected Rs 125 crore on its opening day and earned around Rs 85 crore on the second day, according to media reports.

The film's reported budget is around Rs 300 crore. Given its strong box office performance, it is expected to recover its production cost soon. Some estimates suggest it could become profitable within a week.

Critics have noted that while the story may not be exceptional, its presentation keeps audiences engaged. The film features several surprise moments and cameo appearances by popular stars.

However, Rajinikanth's performance and action sequences have emerged as the film's biggest attractions. The veteran actor, popularly known as Thalaiva, has once again impressed audiences with his screen presence.

The first Jailer, also directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was released in 2023 and became a major box office hit. Its songs also gained widespread popularity.

With Jailer 2 off to a strong start, the franchise appears to be maintaining its box office momentum.
