Subscribers to Bangladesh’s universal pension scheme earned investment returns ranging from 11.68 per cent to 11.72 per cent in the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to the National Pension Authority.
In a statement issued on Monday (October 19), the authority said investments under the scheme generated a total profit of Tk 28,96,55,048.80 during the fiscal year.
The authority’s board approved the distribution of the profit at its fourth meeting. Under the relevant laws and regulations, the earnings will be credited to individual pension accounts, or corpus accounts, based on each subscriber’s contribution amount and the period for which the money was deposited.
Executive Chairman of the National Pension Authority Dr Md Suratujjaman said the authority was working with diligence and transparency to strengthen public confidence in the universal pension system and ensure the security of subscribers’ savings and reasonable returns.
He said the profit distribution would directly benefit subscribers and further strengthen the scheme’s operations.
The statement added that the calculated profits had already been credited to the respective subscribers’ pension accounts.
