Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor have sparked nostalgia among fans after sharing a warm hug at the IIFA 2027 press conference, prompting calls for a reunion in a sequel to their 2007 romantic film Jab We Met.
Videos of the actors greeting each other at the event went viral on social media, with fans recalling their on-screen characters, Geet and Aditya, in the Imtiaz Ali-directed film.
Kareena attended the event in a black leather outfit, while Shahid wore a white suit. Their brief interaction drew emotional reactions from fans, many of whom expressed hope that the actors would work together again.
The reunion also revived discussions about the former couple’s relationship, which ended in 2007, around the time Jab We Met was being filmed.
Shahid previously addressed a similar reunion with Kareena at an IIFA press conference in Jaipur in March 2025, saying their meetings were normal.
“For us, it's nothing new... aaj stage pe mile aur hum log idhar udhar milte rehte hain but it's totally normal for us... if people felt nice, it's nice,” he said.
Kareena married actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012, and they have two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Shahid married Mira Rajput in 2015, and they have two children, Misha and Zain.
Meanwhile, Mira recently appeared on Kareena’s talk show What Women Want. Following the shoot, Mira praised Kareena on social media, thanking her for the invitation and describing her as a woman who encourages others to be themselves.
Kareena responded warmly, calling Mira lovely and expressing happiness over her appearance on the show.
The friendly exchanges have further drawn attention to the cordial relationship between the two families, while fans continue to hope for another on-screen collaboration between Kareena and Shahid.
