Rider killed while trying to avoid an accident

In Kaliganj, Gazipur, 21-year-old Sarwar Ahmed Roman lost control of his motorcycle while attempting to give way to an unidentified vehicle, subsequently crashing into a building by the roadside. He sustained injuries and passed away after being taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM on Tuesday (October 27) in the Kamarbari area along the Tongi-Kaliganj-Ghorashal road. The deceased, Roman, was the son of Billal Hossain from Darisom Madhyarchar village, located in Ward 4 of the Kaliganj Municipality. He worked as a lineman for Daraz.

Inspector (Investigation) Md. Ashraful Islam of the Kaliganj Police Station stated that, according to information provided by locals, Roman was riding his motorcycle from the direction of Tongi toward Kaliganj. While trying to make room for an unidentified vehicle, he lost control and collided with a building situated by the side of the road.

Following the accident, local residents rescued him and transported him to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Dr. Mostafa Al Hossain, a physician in the emergency department, reported that Roman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital around 3:00 PM.

The police stated that a case of unnatural death has been registered. At the request of his family, the body was handed over to his relatives without a post-mortem examination. Further legal proceedings are currently underway.
