Khorshed Alam, 60, a soil trader, left his home after being called out by two individuals. Right as he left, gunshots were heard. Upon reaching the scene, his relatives found him lying there, having sustained gunshot wounds. He was then taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon (October 28) at the Khan residence in Dilshadpur village, located in Parbatinagar Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila. Khorshed was the son of Ruhul Amin, a resident of the same village.

According to the victim's relatives, he was shot and killed due to a dispute over his soil business. They claim that individuals on the opposing side of this dispute had previously threatened him on several occasions.

Khorshed’s wife and daughter stated that two men had come to their home on Wednesday afternoon and called him out. Hearing gunshots later, they rushed to the spot and discovered him lying there with gunshot wounds.

Khorshed was transported to the Lakshmipur District Sadar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a physician. Dr. Zahurul Islam Roni, a medical officer at the hospital, noted that there were two gunshot wounds on his body.

Meanwhile, the police have stated that the deceased, Khorshed, was facing multiple criminal cases, including charges related to murder, illegal arms, and narcotics.

Wahid Farvez, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lakshmipur Sadar Model Police Station, informed ‘The Observer’ that the body has been placed in the hospital morgue for an autopsy. He added that an investigation into the incident is underway, and legal action will be taken against those involved.
