Six people sentenced for drug consumption

In Niamatpur, Naogaon, a mobile court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Mst. Murshida Khatun, conducted special anti-drug operations at various locations, sentencing 6 individuals to prison terms and fines for drug consumption.

The convicted individuals are: Binat Murmu (son of Marol Murmu from Kanail village), Uttam Das (25, son of the late Matiya Das from the same area), Md. Mojibor Rahman (55, son of the late Mohor Bokso from Dharampur village), Md. Bazlur Rahman (45, son of the late Emajuddin Mondol from Dangapara village), Dhiren (45, son of the late Chiruj Singha from Korkoriya village), and Tapan Bhowmik (40, son of the late Paresh Bhowmik from Bhabicha village).

Among them, Binat Murmu, Mojibor Rahman, and Bazlur Rahman were each fined Tk. 100 and sentenced to two months of simple imprisonment. Uttam Das was fined Tk. 50 and sentenced to 15 days of simple imprisonment. Additionally, Dhiren and Tapan Bhowmik were each fined Tk. 500 and sentenced to 7 days of simple imprisonment. Following the proceedings, all 6 convicted individuals were sent to jail.
