Sanjoy to perform at TECNO SAFF Championship opening ceremony

 
Bangladeshi-American DJ and music producer Sanjoy Deb will perform at the opening ceremony of the TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 in Dhaka on 5 November, organisers said.

Sanjoy, who performed at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Toronto earlier this year, will appear as TECNO's special guest performer.

He performed "Siir Siir" alongside Canadian artist Nora Fatehi and French rapper Vegedream at the World Cup ceremony. His maroon outfit, featuring motifs inspired by the Royal Bengal Tiger, water lily and Bangladesh's flag, drew particular attention from Bangladeshi audiences.

"Performing on the FIFA World Cup stage was a special moment for me, but performing in front of my own people in Bangladesh means something different," Sanjoy said in a video message announcing his SAFF appearance.

The TECNO SAFF Championship, South Asia's premier men's international football tournament, is scheduled to run from 5 to 17 November in Dhaka. The competition will begin with a match between India and Pakistan.
